THINK swimming with dolphins is exciting? Now you can go one better with a new jet pack device that lets adventurers dive in and out of the water like "human dolphins".
Invented by French jet ski champion Franky Zapata, the “Flyboard” allows daredevils to hover in the air at heights of over nine metres before plunging into the water.
It can even do backward-somersaults.
The Iron Man-style device sucks in water from the ocean through a hose attached to a jet-ski, propelling the user high into the air. It needs a jet ski with minimum 100-horsepower engine that controls the power of the water, while the jets are attached to the user’s feet.
Although it's similar to the Jetlev jetpack released earlier this yearthe Jetlev doesn't let people dive in and out of the water.
While it's not as graceful as a dolphin, the fun factor is flipping high.
Flyboards are constructed from laminated grp (fiberglass) the top deck has and alucore sandwich centre for additional strength. The unit is filled with bouyancy foam in the pods underneath, this foam will NOT support a person without a suitable pfd (lifejacket).
